At the beginning of this week we hopped in the worlds dinkiest place and headed north to visit our good friends at Archive Coffee in Orkney. It was a whirlwind few days, but equipped with a bag full of coffee, we were able to cram a lot in to those few days!
Our trip started on Sunday afternoon, as we jumped on our Logan Air flight, for what could possibly be the worlds most beautiful flight route. After an hour, and a slightly more than questionable complimentary coffee, we landed at Kirkwall Airport and made our way straight to Archive Coffee.
Our first action of the trip was a full training for the Archive team! One thing that stood out to us is just how passionate this wee team is! Everyone got involved, even those that don't usually make coffee. It was a fantastic session and we finished safe in the knowledge that this is without a doubt the best coffee in Orkney!
On the second day we had the honour of actually serving some coffee on the Archive bar for a few hours. Serving up Goosedubbs & Honduras Abeja, we made sure the good people of Orkney were well fuelled for the day.
In the afternoon, we were taken around the island to take in some of the sights, including the Ring of Brodgar, which was absolutely incredible! We finished the day off with a public cupping session, where we cupped through our full selection of single origin coffees and shared some of the stories behind these incredible brews.
An action packed and caffeine filled few days! A huge thank you to the full Archive team for their incredible hospitality across the three days that we joined you! We can't wait to come back and see you soon!
