This time last year, we had just found out that we were unsuccessful in our bid to win Roast Magazine's micro-roaster of the year. Fast forward to this year, and we once again threw our hat in the ring, this time aiming to go one better and take home the prize.
For those of you who might not be familiar with Roast Magazine, it's a global coffee publication, focussing on roasting and everything that goes along with it. So as you can imagine, winning this prize is a pretty big deal.
We sent off our coffee to be assessed by the folks at Roast Magazine and had an anxious wait to see if we'd be crowned the winners. After a month or so we got the news...
WE WONNNNNNNNNNNN!
Just when we thought we couldn’t be prouder! Boom! Here we are! Recognised by Roast Magazine for our achievements, our mission, our commitment to progress, and of course our excellence in coffee roasting! For a wee Scottish roastery this is mega!!!! The first roastery outside of the US to make the grade! We’re ecstatic and we’re incredibly grateful to the team at Roast Magazine for this accolade!
Roast Mag has been part of our journey since day one! We referred to back copies of mags to research setting up our roastery, way back in 2010ish… let’s face it, there was little else in the way of resources available back then! We have subscribed to and learned from this publication ever since. To be recognised by this institution in our industry really is mind-blowing! We still can’t believe it!
You gotta be in it to win in and when we applied for this award we thought we would learn from the process, what could we possibly have to lose?! Absolutely nothing it seems! Thank you to the brilliant Roast Mag team, to the awesome Dear Green team, to our incredible customers and supporters and to the coffee producers who we wouldn’t be here without. We’re incredibly humbled and absolutely delighted!
